Reduced energy demand and lower annual fuel bills

The Scholars comprises some of the most energy-efficient, low-energy homes currently available in the Scottish property market.

CCG Homes is committed to building homes that are beautiful and highly energy-efficient. That’s why we use innovative construction methods that not only improve quality standards but also deliver a leading standard of energy performance.

How do we do it?

Each property at The Scholars boasts an enhanced building fabric, meaning the walls, floors, and roofs are designed to provide optimal insulation and airtightness. For this, we call upon the expertise of our parent company, CCG (Scotland), who use pioneering manufacturing processes to create entire wall zones in a factory setting under semi-automated conditions before being assembled on the construction site.

This process is inherently efficient and as a result of the quality standards we can meet, our homes have vastly improved thermal performance, delivering an EPC rating between 90 (B) and 92 (A) as a result.

What does it mean for you?

By choosing a home at The Scholars, you will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Your home will stay warmer for longer, thanks to the enhanced building fabric and the high-performance windows and doors.
  • You will save money on your energy bills, as your home will require less heating and cooling, and will be equipped with energy-efficient appliances and lighting.
  • You will reduce your environmental impact, as your home will have a lower carbon footprint and contribute to the national targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

How does the energy performance of your property compare to the national average in Scotland? Well, the average EPC rating across the country is a Band D (61) and If you own a period property, your energy performance may be even lower.
