Eileen, who had been living in a top-floor tenement-style flat nearby, had known for some time that she wanted to find a new home to spend her retirement years. Two years ago, she was driving through Shawlands on her journey home from work when she noticed a sign for the new CCG Homes development. She immediately got in touch to register her interest.
Eileen said:
“When I saw the CCG Homes sign, I was eager to find out more – I knew they had a good reputation for customer service and building high-quality homes, and the new development was in the perfect location for me.”
Riverford Gardens is set along the banks of the White Cart River, positioned between the popular areas of Pollokshaws, Shawlands and Newlands. The development comprised 156 homes in a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments, three-bedroom semi-detached houses and four-bedroom terraced villas.
Eileen continued:
“I love everything about my new home. It is incredibly easy to keep clean and has a high-end, luxury feel. The fittings have been done to an exceptionally high standard, which has even been noticed by friends of mine who are tradespeople – that really speaks volumes.
“Something else I really value is the amount of natural light in the property – I am only on the first floor but it feels very light, spacious and airy. I had the chance to choose the tiles and units in the bathroom and kitchen which I love, and it has really helped to personalise my space.”
The homes have an enhanced building fabric and achieve drastically improved thermal performance characteristics. With the addition of solar PV, the combination of these measures helps lower energy consumption and as a result, lower annual fuel bills.
Eileen commented:
“The property feels very well insulated and I know CCG are renowned for building energy-efficient homes.”
