One of the most well-respected and coveted awards ceremonies on the Scottish property calendar, The Herald Property Awards for Scotland 2024 will “honour the achievements of Scotland’s most innovative and successful home and commercial builders, developers, agents, interior designers and registered social landlords”.
Calderwood Lodge, a 20-home development in the southside of Glasgow, will be vying for a win in the ‘Best Apartment’ category where it will go head-to-head with some of the country’s best projects.
Located on Calderwood Road neighbouring the beautiful Newlands Park, the site dates back to the late-Victorian era with the stunning – and now respectfully restored – sandstone villa residing on its grounds since 1901.
Privately owned, the site then became Scotland’s first and only all-Jewish school in the early 20th century, operating within the villa itself and across a new build classroom block until its closure in 2017.
CCG Homes took ownership of the site in 2019 and set forth a plan to create what is now one of Glasgow’s most prestigious private housing developments.
The villa – known as the ‘Heritage’ Collection,’ has been restored and upgraded to modern building standards and comprises 4, two and three-bedroom apartments, whilst the 60’s classroom block has made way for the ‘Contemporary’ Collection with 15, two and three-bedroom apartments & penthouses maximising the unrivalled and unrestricted views towards the neighbouring parkland.
A wonderful, three-bedroom ‘Mews’ completes the masterplan.
Unique in every sense of the word, the development has since sold out and stands tall as a leading example of architectural conservation and new build construction.
